Our lodge is nearing completion!
Lodge, you ask? You may have heard me previously speak of it a a "dorm", but it is turning out to be so much more, as some adversity has led to an opportunity.
Recently our electric company came by and said "we need to cut down 60 of your pine trees", which sounds bad, but since we planted over 18,000 trees it wasn't such a shock. Well, we took those 60 trees to our Amish neighbor who has a sawmill and asked him to cut them into live-edge siding, which leaves some bark and the original outline of the tree. This wood has become the interior siding of the new Lodge
We also have the 5 bedrooms finished, the kitchen cabinets are up and the gas range installed, the furnace is in as is all the plumbing. We now are working on finishing the bathroom and adding other appliances, as well as the two outdoor showers that overlook our pond.
Covid had made this "haul" much longer than expected, but we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So come on over for our open house and see the progress.
